Meet Maggie and her Magick Magnifying Glass. Here is her story:
'Maggie often struggled with her appearance. Her parents used to say her ears were too short (where Maggie comes from, elves are ranked in power by the length of their ears!), her nose too thin, her hands too weathered. In adulthood, her worries began to effect the way she viewed her soul. She suspected that maybe she wasn’t as worthy as the other elves. Her world became very small, and she began to isolate herself from her friends of the forest. One day, Maggie took her usual seat on her favourite toadstool, only to glance down at the forest floor, where she noticed a strange object sticking out of the soil... Unearthing this, she noticed the way it shimmered and glowed in the light. Holding it up to her eye, something strange happened! She was able to see the world in a way she hadn’t been able to before.
She held the magnifying glass over her weathered hands, and saw how the lines and fingerprints looked like maps to far away cities carved out of sand. The forest seemed to light up under the glass, and she could see all the tiny critters busying about their days in a delightful dance! She spent months studying every leaf, insect and passing bird. She found herself completely occupied with her new found magnifying glass.
Eventually, word spread of what Maggie had found. Familiar faces began approaching her, asking if she would look at them and say what she could see. She saw brilliant eyes with depths of wisdom, rosy complexions that radiated brilliance, gentle hands with the gift of grace. In fact, she found that everyone she met in this way had something uniquely beautiful about them.
The people of the forest would smile, shed a tear and thank her for for her kindness. It made her so happy, she soon forgot what her parents ever said of her. She was far too busy studying her surroundings to care!
These days, Maggie doesn’t need her magnifying glass as much. But she is always more than happy to help those who have lost sight of their unique magick'
Item Specifics:
Maggie is a mixed media one of a kind art doll. Hand sculpted with fimo clay & painted with artist's acrylic. Decorated with reindeer lichen. Her hair is made from Mohair. Her magnifying glass is made with a glass cabochon. She measures at a height of 10 inches when sat on her toadstool. The toadstool measures at 4 inches in height and is detachable as demonstrated in the photos. There is a flat green area on the toadstool that serves as a marker of where to seat her. Maggie is not a toy and should be handled with care. Please keep her safely indoors.
